Nepali video captions guide

Nepali captions make a spoken recording easier to follow with the sound off. The generated transcript is a draft: regional pronunciation, names, music, and overlapping speakers still need a human review.

1. Start with a clear recording

Upload your video in Auto Captions. Keep the original audio when possible and choose Nepali in the language options if it is the main spoken language. Avoid making several compressed copies before uploading. A quiet recording with one clear speaker gives you a more useful starting transcript than speech underneath loud music.

2. Review Nepali words in context

Listen to each caption while reading its text. Correct personal names, place names, numbers, and words that have been confused with Hindi. For code-switching, check English phrases separately. Keep the speaker’s meaning and preferred spelling rather than rewriting a sentence just to match the generated text. Automatic transcription is not a promise of translation.

3. Check Devanagari and line length

Choose a font that displays the full Nepali text correctly in the preview. Inspect vowel marks, joined characters, punctuation, and line breaks. Use the editor’s maximum words control to split long sentences into shorter cues without discarding words. If a cue remains difficult to read, adjust its timing or size and replay the sentence.

4. Export and review the downloaded file

Preview at the intended aspect ratio, keeping captions away from faces and screen edges. Export styled video for captions that remain visible in the picture, or SRT/VTT for a subtitle workflow. Open the downloaded result and check the same names and joined characters again before posting. Save a local copy while your hosted media is available.

Before you publish

  • Names and numbers match the audio.
  • Devanagari characters render without missing glyphs.
  • Mixed English and Nepali phrases retain their meaning.
  • Every cue is readable on a phone.

Try the workflow with your own recording

Free has one-time allowances, watermarked video exports up to 720p, and 7-day hosted file retention. Review the result and keep a local copy.
