Last updated 2026-10-24 · How long we keep hosted files
This Privacy Policy explains what information Kliption collects, how we use it, and how long we keep it — including uploaded media, transcripts, and generated clips.
Kliption is used to transcribe recordings, draft captions, and produce short clips. We process that content so the product can work.
Account data: name, email, plan, and billing identifiers from our payment provider when you subscribe.
Workspace data: projects, uploaded audio/video, transcripts, captions, clip metadata, exports, support tickets, and usage meters.
Technical data: device/browser information, IP address, and logs needed to operate, secure, and debug the service.
To provide transcription, captions, clips, exports, billing, support, and account security.
To enforce plan limits, including storage size and Free-plan retention.
To send transactional messages (support replies, storage-expiry warnings, billing-related notices) when email is configured.
On Free, hosted projects (source files, transcripts stored with the project, generated clips, and server-side exports) are deleted 7 days after the project is created, or 7 days after the account returns to Free. We send a warning 3 days before deletion.
On paid plans, hosted files are kept while the subscription is active, within the plan’s storage quota. After a cancel, refund, or promo expiry that returns you to Free, the 7-day clock starts.
Deleting a project or your account removes hosted files for that project or account, subject to short-lived backups and operational logs.
Files you export and save outside Kliption are under your control and are not deleted by our retention sweep.
We use infrastructure and vendors to run the product (for example object storage, speech recognition, video rendering, email, payments, and authentication). They process data only to provide those services.
You can download exports, delete projects, or request account deletion from the product or by emailing support.
You can upgrade to keep hosted files while subscribed, or export before a Free deletion date.
